Improvement of Regional Diagnostic Capabilities

Context:

Accurate diagnosis is necessary for effective control of animal disease.

 

Objectives:

Strengthening of existing diagnostic facilities on district, national and regional levels
Strengthening of disease surveillance programs and quarantine measures

 

Scope:

National, bilateral and trilateral activities are ongoing. However, coordination of control measures and efforts is necessary and must be encouraged.

 

Status:

The regionally available diagnostic facilities are far below the real requirements.

 

Tasks:

To provide appropriate equipment and laboratory consumables;
To offer special manpower training in specific areas;
To upgrade the diagnostic performances of the relevant laboratories;
